Services Held For Frank Hicks
Funeral services were held at the Lowry chapel for Frank Hicks who died in a Columbus hospital from injuries in an automobile crash the night before. Born in Tobias Nebraska on November 27 1885 Hicks lived in Elwood Sutton Fairmont and Billings before moving to Montana in 1939. He is survived by his widow Erma, six children, a daughter Frankie Kay, two stepchildren, his mother, three sisters, two brothers and nine grandchildren. He had lived at the Albert Strand ranch near Shawmut for three years.

They discussed improving the pool for next year and the sale timing. Albert Esp succeeded Teddy Thompson as director. the board reorganized with W N Clayton president, J G Johnson vice president, H B Tetlie treasurer, and Albert Esp secretary. Lars Fotland remains a board member.

It will be known as the Yellowstone Valley tournament and will be fired from four positions. This will be the first match of this kind ever held in this locality. Non-registered shooters will have an opportunity to qualify for the state shoot to be held here April 28 and 29 when the state championship will be at stake.

Lutheran Church Is Redecorated for Christmas
The interior of the Lutheran church was redecorated with green shades from ceiling to lower walls. Part of the work was finished last week and the rest this week including vestibule, side auditorium and cloakroom. Final touches and varnish will be completed for the Sunday school program on Saturday December 23 and Christmas day services. The project was a joint effort of the Big Timber Ladies Aid and the Deer Creek Aid, with painting by Louis Collins and assistant.
