Frank Robideau, 47, a Wheat Basin farmer, was sentenced to death by Judge Ben Harwood in Columbus for the November dual slayings of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kuntz. He confessed to killing the couple and severely beating 5-year-old Larry Kuntz, claiming self defense earlier. The execution is to be carried out using Montana’s historic gallows, with Stillwater officials planning the method at Stillwater County Jail.

Spencer a 62 year old prominent Montana Mason and former legislator from Carbon county died at 6 45 am at his home 322 North Twenty ninth street He had recently been in ill health but worked Monday at the Gazette Printing company He previously published the Bridger Times for 19 years and served as Bridger alderman and mayor He was elected to the Montana House in 1920 and 1922 and to the Senate in 1924 for a four year term.

Frank W. Haskins 67 a Butte attorney and former newspaperman died at a Billings area hospital from injuries after a Tuesday night crash near Laurel. He was en route with John Carkeet and Miles Parsons to a York Rite Masons festival. Carkeet and Parsons were only minorly injured. The crash occurred when a wrecking vehicle pulled a car from a ditch and a sudden brake caused Haskins car to skid into the ditch. the body was returned to Butte for funeral services under Knights Templar supervision.

Van Vlack Dies By Jumping From Idaho Gallows
Douglas Van Vlack, a triple killer from Tacoma, hanged himself in the Idaho prison cellblock moments before an execution. He leaped 30 feet after refusing orders, striking his head and shoulders.
