Car Accident Fatal To Frank Hicks
Frank Hicks, a Gibson area rancher, died at Columbus hospital from injuries after a Tuesday evening automobile collision near Columbus. Funeral services are tentatively set for Saturday at 2 PM at Lowry chapel, with the body to be sent to Sutton Nebraska for burial. Survivors: two daughters Mrs. W. N. Blair of Gibson and Mrs. Alfred Haug of near Billings.

Former Livingston Resident Seriously Injured in Train Collision
Mrs. Melvin Braa recently moved from Big Timber to Livingston and her car was struck by a locomotive on the Park branch crossing a mile south of town. Braa suffered skull fracture, broken collar bone, and severe head lacerations. driver Mrs. J. W. Nelson was also seriously hurt. Officials say the car failed to see the oncoming train and the vehicle was hurled about 50 feet, landing upside down beside the tracks.

Winners in this year’s production and marketing administration county elections were announced after vote tabulation. Chairman Terrill Tollefson won 115 votes, Bob Cosgriff 105, Lars Fotland 94, Gerrit Scholten 70, Gilbert Oppland 69, with several write ins and other candidates. About 56 percent of 272 eligible farmers cast ballots, an increase over previous PMA elections.

Norman Wick and Albert John Kuntz transfer from Dickinson North Dakota will leave Thursday for the army recruiting and induction station at Butte to be inducted into the armed services. This brings total Sweet Grass county inductees to six. Irwin C. Lolland, Raymond S. Roe, and Dean D. Redland registered with the board in November. The next draft board meeting is Monday December 18.
