Grey Cliff event hints at prize draw and carnival plans
A local note describes a Grey Cliff School District push for better facilities and a community Christmas carnival on Dec 11 at the Wheel. Activities include games, bingo, dancing, and a midnight drawing for a Pinto Shetland filly. tickets go on sale at $1 each with about 750 available, and $450 in prizes expected.

Services Held For Mrs Patterson
Funeral services for Mrs L V Patterson were held at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Reed Point. She was killed in a Wyoming automobile accident last Thursday morning. The Rev Andrew Roukema and Rev Roy Anderson led the ceremony. Mrs Arthur W Neumann and Mrs James Baxter sang The Old Rugged Cross and Nearer My God to Thee. Pallbearers were Floyd Ferguson Herbert Nelson Harry Weamer R E Smith Burton B Smith and Ed Olson. Burial was in Columbus cemetery. She is survived by her husband and four sons Rudolph and John of Columbus Gerben of Polson and King of Reed Point.

State Pioneer Dies In Livingston
A. G. Robertson 85 longtime Montana rancher businessman and Park County sheriff died Thursday of last week at his Livingston home. A native of Ontario he moved to Montana in 1883 worked in cattle and sheep ranching and freight hauling later settling in Livingston where he edited a business career and two terms as sheriff. He later served as state investigator and worked for the Northern Pacific railway. Survivors include his widow Alice Pound Robertson and son Fulton. Funeral services were held Sunday in Livingston.

Manchus Thompson, born February 2 1872 in Egersund Norway, longtime local carpenter and sheepherder, burned to death in a bunk house fire at the Thorval Gunderson ranch. Funeral held at Lowry chapel with Rev E E Tollefson officiating and interment at Mountain View. Observers noted fire spread hindered by distance from creek and inadequate hose.

The American Legionagers opened their season with two wins over the Livingston Elks. Friday's game ended 80 to 48 with Bob Deegan scoring 22 and Herb McCauley 18. Sunday the Legion won 48 to 31 as Bill Ellison led with 16 points and Al Deegan added 12. They host the Columbus Independents Friday and the Shadoans of Billings Wednesday.

Four generations gather for Thanksgiving at Birkeland ranch
At the E. O. Birkeland ranch on Lower Deer Creek a Thanksgiving dinner drew four generations. Bozeman families including O. L. Todd, Bob Clark, H. W. Todd, Verle Clark, Donald Todd, R. L. Todd and others from Reed Point Stevensville Billings and Livingston attended. It marked the first time all were present for the annual family event.

Early Day Resident Dies In Denver
Gretchen Everett Droll of Denver reports that her mother Rose Everett died in Denver on November 18. The body was sent to Minneapolis to be buried beside her husband Edward Everett, a Northern Pacific surveyor in the early 1880s who later settled near Big Timber. Mrs Everett lived in the community for years and another daughter Inez Schimelle resides in Minneapolis.

Herders Open Cage Season With Two Lopsided Wins

Carl Idland described his journey with 32 Montana FFA members to the twentieth annual Future Farmers of America convention in Kansas City. The group toured plants, received two American Farmer degrees, and toured city sights including Independence and the Liberty Memorial. They returned amid a Nebraska blizzard delaying routes and leaving drifts over 15 feet.
