The Big Timber City-County Planning Board met on Tuesday August 19 after reorganization by the City Council and county commissioners. Don Henke was elected president Jim Snodgrass vice president and Mrs Ben Taylor secretary with eight other members named and a ninth to be chosen. The board will serve as the city zoning commission and draft a zoning plan while Norman Grosfield explains zoning aims and Montana law. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday August 27 and citizens are invited.

The Treasure State Telephone Company started a project in Big Timber adding about 150000 dollars of upgrades to its facilities. Photos show a cement structure in an alley between third and fourth streets, near McLeod. Nine installations planned at about 1450 dollars each. Underground cable work set for completion in November.
