Federal officials after a Roosevelt meeting said 120 000 to 150 000 people may receive WPA job relief in the growth area, at about five million dollars a month, with a new appropriation likely. Ninety thousand were already employed there at twenty dollars per month on dams roads and farms.

Bozeman Girl Killed in Headon Collision Near Toston
Louise Huffine 21 of Bozeman was killed and five others injured when two cars crashed head on on the Helena Bozeman highway about seven miles south of Toston. The Dodge carried the Huffine sisters and others returning to Bozeman from Helena. Johnson hotel proprietor A H Johnson of Great Falls and Emil Kidd were among the injured. Highway Patrolman Hugh Potter said last minute swerving by Johnson to avoid the Dodge contributed to the collision.

Herbert Eric Meuich of St. Louis won the third all American Soap Box Derby at Derby Downs Akron speeding a 36 mph car costing 9.92 dollars. The first prize is a four year scholarship to any U.S. college or university which he chose Boston Tech. A crowd of 75 000 witnessed 64 heats under blazing sun with airplanes and a Goodyear Zeppelin in the sky.

Tragic Truck Train Collision Kills 22 in Quebec
