Dr Eva M Hunter 90 died in Seattle after six weeks illness. She came to Big Timber in 1888 to teach school with her three daughters Jota Vivian Brighta. She later served Park county as superintendent and practiced osteopathy in Livingston before retirement. Her husband E J Hunter a Northern Pacific brakeman died in 1888 at the Muir tunnel.

Death of Miles City Shoe Merchant August Mund
August Mund aged 58 of Miles City died near his summer cabin on the Boulder from a stroke while fishing. A companion kept him from falling into the river. He owned a large shoe store in Miles City and had built the cabin above Whispering Pines near Old Raintuck. his wife Mrs Mund was at the cabin when the stroke occurred. The body was brought to Miles City for shipment.

Herbert Gray a 16 year old Guilford Maine youth missing since July 26 was found about a mile southeast of Granite park chalets in Glacier National Park. He apparently fell from a cliff and died instantly. Chicago figures show American wheat farmers gained close to 100 million dollars from the grain markets since July 1. About 10 million dollars comes from drought driven price increases as buyers in Chicago and other markets pay higher prices for wheat.
