Paul VanCleve Jr sustained facial injuries from a lightning startled horse incident in Yellowstone Canyon while camping with a large party including his parents and relatives. He was kicked by a horse while restraining the reins and treated at the Post hospital with bones set and wounds dressed without anaesthesia. He remains bandaged and under care as the journey continues.
