Services Held For Leo Sack in Big Timber
Funeral services for Leo Clarence Sack were held Thursday afternoon at Lowry Chapel with Rev. Ocee Johnson officiating. Sack died at his home after a long illness. Military rites were by Sweet Grass post of the American Legion with a firing squad and color guard. Interment was in Mountain View. Sack, born June 19, 1894 in Ashton Nebraska, lived in Reeder North Dakota and Big Timber Montana. He is survived by his widow, two sisters Clara and Flora Anderson of Glendive, a brother Albert Sack of Haley North Dakota, and several stepchildren.

Summer swimming drawing to close at city pool
Ed Bergquist, supervisor of the city pool, says swimming instruction ends Tuesday August 18. Advanced classes tests for certificates occur that day and Friday August 14 marks the end of beginners classes. Open swimming closes Saturday August 29 after a busy season with over 6000 attendees in June and July.

At the Big Timber Rod and Gun club on August 11, George Lamach and Ross Williams reported on the Montana Wildlife Federation meeting in Bozeman on July 16. George Lamach and Robert Bird discussed a Trailride in Sloughneek area. the county road crew improved Gilasston road and will shale and gravel portions. Lake recreation area is busy with three tents set up Sunday. Lamach noted bees required two evenings for watering due to dry conditions. Bird showed New York World's Fair slides. Sandwiches and coffee were served after the meeting.

James R. Davis dies of heart attack in Jerome
James R. Bob Davis aged 70 died July 30 in Jerome Idaho from a heart attack while at the wheel of a car. He lived much of his life in Sweet Grass County near Deer Creek. He had been hospitalized at Jerome Hospital and was released. Funeral services were held August 3 at Wiley Chapel in Jerome. Survivors include his widow, a sister Mag Lucy Cartwright and two daughters Mrs Many McDoneld and Mrs Phil Jones and their husbands, a son-in-law visiting Ida Lay-on Bridger Creek.
