John P. Campbell longtime Sweet Grass county rancher died at his home after a three months illness. He was 82 and death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 PM from the Congregational church with Rev. E Brentwood Barker officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View.

Gale Snyder Turns Five With Home Birthday Party
Gale Snyder daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Snyder celebrated her fifth birthday Monday with a party at home. Seventeen guests attended and Mrs Snyder and Mrs Dick Armstrong along with Gale’s aunt Mrs Chas Groff visiting from Allentown Pa served refreshments. Fire crews were called Tuesday to the Jim Schneider residence to extinguish a garage blaze started by a campfire attempt with minimal damage. Gerald Chapin recently sold his ranch on Big Timber Creek and moved to Denver where he and partners bought a factory producing gas conversion burners for furnaces employing nine workers.

Services Conducted For Alfred Rudd
Funeral services for Alfred Rudd Sr. who died last week in a Billings hospital were held Monday afternoon at the Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev. E. E. Tollefson officiating. Burial followed at Mountain View. Rudd, born May 13 1877 in Rochester Minnesota, came to Big Timber as a child in 1881 and lived there most of his life. He married Hannah Ekle in 1905 and they resided on ranches on Otter Creek and later Deer Creek. Surviving are eight children and large extended family.
