Rites Held For Pvt Sandsness In Big Timber
Last rites for Pvt Alvin James Sandsness son of Mr and Mrs James Sandsness were conducted at Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev E E Tollefson officiating. He died in Belgium January 29 1945 and was 19. He graduated Sweet Grass County High School in 1943 and enlisted July 17 1944. Pallbearers and full military honors were provided by local units. He is survived by parents two brothers Henry and Eugene and a sister Mrs Ed Hanson.

Livingston Trout Derby Set For August 8 In Livingston
The fifth annual Livingston national trout derby will be held Sunday August 8 with Lonnie Bryan of the local post office likely to enter. A 3 p.m. sportsmen’s barbecue will close the day after a program awarding a $1 000 prize for the largest trout and other age and distance based prizes for fishermen including a possible alternate prize if a woman brings in the biggest trout.
