Last Rites Held For Sherman Eaton
Funeral services for Sherman Morton Eaton were held at his home and the Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev. E. S. Tollefson officiating. Interment was at Mountain View. Survivors include his wife Ann and two children Dexter and Linda Grace, his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Eaton, and five brothers and two sisters. Eaton’s Inn founder was noted for generosity and community involvement.

Postmaster Exams Opened Again in Big Timber
The civil service commission announced a new examination for the Big Timber postmaster position. Acting postmaster Max Officer has held the job for months. Applications must be filed with the U S Civil Service Commission Washington 25 D C by August 22. A written exam will be held in Livingston with dates on admission cards mailed after the closing date.

Thomas Jasper aged 69 died at Lott hospital in Livingston after a heart attack while irrigating at the Gerald Clayton ranch on West Boulder. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church in Big Timber with burial at Mountain View. Survivors include a sister and several nieces and nephews.
