A spring storm dumped up to 10 inches of snow in Big Timber over Sunday night through Tuesday, closing Highway 10 and Interstate 90 between Big Timber and Livingston. The storm caused multiple accidents, tree damage, power and telephone outages, and widespread travel disruptions as crews worked to clear snow and restore services.

City Council finalizes summer recreation program plans
Big Timber Montana council approves a summer recreation program with Bob Hauck as director at 800 dollars for the season. A pool use fee schedule is set including 20 dollars per family, 10 dollars per individual, and 50 cents per swim for nonseason ticket holders, with no overall recreation fee. Horses Used for River Cleanup In Sweet Grass County
Forest Service crews spent last week cleaning flood debris from the West and East Boulder Rivers. They used horses to drag logs rocks and other items from the river banks. Bob Fitzhugh said the horses worked well and did not tear up stream banks. He noted horse use is waning but appears to be increasing in similar operations.

Sweet Grass High School Pops Concert Next Week
The Sweet Grass High School Pops Concert is set for 8 p.m. May 6 in the school gym with the band choir stage band and Sweet Sixteen vocal group performing all light popular music. Doors open at 7 p.m. and art from the Big Timber Woman's Club will be on display beforehand. Admission is 150 for adults 1 for students and 50 cents for elementary students with tables for four at 2. Snacks will be available and proceeds fund future music events and entry fees to festivals.
