Two More Victims of Spanish Influenza
Oscar Carrell a 32 year old hotel servant contracted Spanish influenza and died after a brief illness. He fell ill near the 67 ranch north of Piney and died Sunday afternoon. Born in Copenhagen Denmark he came to the area in 1906 and worked for Jensen Bros until his illness.

Samuel Royle dies after influenza and pneumonia
Samuel Royle a highly respected citizen died Tuesday afternoon at age 82 following influenza and pneumonia. He was born February 28, 1887 in Ogden Utah and married Alice of Nebraska in 1917. He lived in the area twelve years, with ties to cattle interests and the Opal region. Burial arrangements pass via Masonic rites with funeral details earlier. His wife Mrs Royle is reported resting easier. Hazel Willoughby of Half Way tends her influenza-stricken mother, Mrs O Connor.
