Local Red Cross Notes In Marbelton And Halfway

Marbelton reports twenty garments finished in recent weeks as Red Cross work rooms stay active. Halfway women also contributed a portion of the workload. A Sunday meeting added thirty seven new members, boosting participation. The call goes to loyal American women to dedicate an afternoon to Red Cross tasks or take home projects.

Red Cross Branch Formed at Halfway Event

A branch of the Green River Chapter of the Red Cross was constituted last Sunday at Halfway with forty five members enrolled. The meeting took place at the store and the new branch will work in harmony with the Big Piney Chapter. James Hopkins plans a benefit dance at the Halfway Schoolhouse next Saturday evening hoping for strong turnout.

Sheriff McMinn in Critical Condition with Pneumonia

Sheriff McMinn is critically ill at S. C. M. hospital, suffering pneumonia that grew from a monthlong cold. He became very ill Wednesday after returning from Sage and was admitted at 7 p.m., per the Kemmerer Republican.

New Bridge Needed at Fontenelle Across Ditch

County officials urge construction of a new bridge over the ditch north of the Howard Holden ranch on Fontenelle road.
