Oil Industry Says It Is Better Prepared For National Emergency
Frank M. Porter president of the American Petroleum Institute asserts the U S oil industry is better prepared to meet any national emergency noting a 25 percent rise in domestic production and refining capacity since World War II peak demand. He cites $8 billion reinvested in exploration and facilities over five years and argues private competition should be preserved even amid wartime planning. G F McMillan of the Rocky Mountain District agrees inventories are strong and position is better now than in the last war.
