Town of Big Piney Wyoming proclaims election to be held May 14 1918 at Town Hall Precinct No 1. Voters choose a Mayor for one year and two Councilmen for two years. Polls open after nine and close at seven. The proclamation is signed by Mayor L D Tanner and Town Clerk Grover Trittipo.
Delegates from across the nation gathered in Kemmerer April 11 12 for a Wyoming stockgrowers convention. The event drew attendees from Denver to Omaha and all Wyoming counties except Uinta, highlighting hospitalities and Red Cross support. Officers changed hands with Robi Carey presiding and J C Shaw named president.
The Green River Chapter of the American Red Cross will launch a May campaign to raise 100000 for war relief over the next year. James Mickelson was named campaign manager with power to appoint a regional committee, and Albert Larson was named war fund cashier.
City urges residents to clear yards and alleys of rubbish and cans by April 30 1918. Place cans in boxes and proceed to Cranston for disposal at regular dumping grounds per Mayor L. D. Tanner.
Nels Christensen returns from a three week visit to Twin Falls Idaho with his brother. The Kemmerer Camera issues an April 10 publication featuring an 84 page pictorial supplement on Kemmerer Lincoln county and Piney area with scenes and portraits of old residents. Last Monday night at Budd Hall a large farewell dance honored Green River valley boys who left Tuesday for military and naval service. J L Fleming released Albert Kunze to join the colors. Dan Cratton to manage the Pool Hall and Barber business for the new proprietor.
The Wyoming State Highway Commission invites sealed proposals for 4.87 miles of the Big Piney Road at Cheyenne with plans and specs available at the State Highway Engineer or Lincoln County Clerk. Bids due noon May 1 1918 with 5 percent bid deposit. separate bridge bids allowed. The commission may reject any bid.

A 1400 acre tract of hay land is offered for lease with inquiries directed to Mrs M R at Big Piney Wye. A Piney petition circulated this week from Rock Springs, drafted by Dr M A Anderson, calls for capital punishment for Teuton spies when caught, and is signed by nearly all residents.
