In Green River Valley a new venture, Big Piney Drilling and Development Co, offers 8000 shares at 100 dollars par. They plan to sell 1000 shares to fund 320 acres in the Creta ceous oil dome and place 90 percent of proceeds toward development. A well on site shows 103 feet of oil sand with high gravity oil. In Laramie Wyoming on January 24 1919 C P Budd of Marbleton Wyoming received an assay certificate for Crude Petroleum No 1. The distillation results show 26 percent gasoline 48 percent illuminants oil kerosines 12.4 fuel oil 6.3 lubricating oil 2.6 wax 0 sulfur none 0.7 water 4.0 loss by difference.
