Renzo's rise from farm boy to local leader in Knabb county
In Missouri a farmer Amos Croy's son Renzo grows from a playful, ambitious farm youth into a neighborhood figure. He courts and marries, moves to Holt county, then returns as a respected landowner with a social role, while his wife hosts well regarded covered dish luncheons. The story contrasts rural life with city notions and chronicling Renzo's outward ascent and social acceptance.
