Charles P. Randall of Hamden has been named executive director of the Connecticut Society of Architects. He previously served as manager of Community Development at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce and worked with the U S Chamber of Commerce in Washington. District Court Appeals Heard At Alfred
Appeals from the District court heard yesterday in York County Superior Court resulted in multiple fines and guilty pleas. Walter A. Campbell of Saco was fined $40 for passing on a curve. Louis E. Beall of Biddeford paid $105 after pleading guilty to operating a truck over the road limit. Frank J. Simoneau of Biddeford received a $20 fine after dropping his appeal and pleading guilty to speeding. Bernard Paquette of Saco pleaded guilty to operating an unregistered motor vehicle and paid $35. Paquette also pled guilty to causing excessive noise in a motor vehicle. another charge was dismissed. Melvin B. Leblanc of Biddeford had a charge of illegal attachment of license plates dismissed. David R. Hill of Chebeague Island faced a driving under the influence charge from Wells. Hill pleaded not guilty and was fined $155.

General Acceptance Corp has bought the accounts of Seaboard Finance Co from the Biddeford Bangor and Portland offices. The buyer operates 600 offices in the U S and Canada with headquarters in Allentown Pa. Biddeford manager Donald Roy said no policy or personnel changes are expected. Biddeford firefighters found a large blaze upon arrival at 51 Center Street Biddeford a three story wooden tenement owned by Doris Boisse and occupied by Greg Lessard.
