Project FIND locates hidden elderly in communities nationwide

The National Council on Aging funded Project FIND to locate isolated older people across the country. In Hammond Indiana a 75 year old woman facing welfare poverty was helped into a home, in Santa Cruz a 74 year old farm laborer began receiving Social Security, and in New York City thousands more were found living in overlooked hotels near Times Square. The program shows submerged elderly exist in all community types and calls for similar efforts nationwide.
