Davis Guilty of Murder Life Sentence in Saco Case

Alfred-Walter E. Davis Jr., 26, is to begin a life term at Thomaston State Prison after a Superior Court jury found him guilty of murdering Saco dairy worker Troy Ballenger, 30, on Dec. 2. Ballenger died from a back-of-head blow with an 18-inch steel bar and later stab wounds. his body was found Dec. 3 at Thibodeau Dairy Farm. The seven-women, five-men jury deliberated under three hours. Davis showed emotion only during sentencing. his wife sobbed outside the courtroom. The judge noted no discretion or appeal, while defense lawyers prepared to appeal to the Supreme Court.
