Brennan Files Complaint to Remove York DA Donahue

Attorney General Joseph Brennan filed a petition to permanently remove York County District Attorney William Donahue from office. A parallel action seeks disbarment of Donahue assistant James Dineen, with responses filed in York County Superior Court. The complaint accuses Donahue of dismissing cases, interfering in prosecutions, pressuring police, and condoning unlawful acts by assistants, seeking replacement with an appointed attorney until a special election. It also cites a breakdown in communication with police and includes transcripts of calls with Biddeford Officer Robert Fournier. Dineen denies misconduct, calls the disbarment action a result of conspiracies, and seeks exoneration. No hearing date set.
