Deaths Mrs Nettie Hopkins Polister Former Brewer Resident
Mrs Nettie Hopkins Polister 4 died this morning in a Biddeford nursing home after a long illness. Born November 16, 1874 in Brewer she was the daughter of James D and Etta Bowden Hopkins and educated in angor schools. She moved from Brewer to Saco about four years ago and was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational Brewer. Surviving are two daughters Phyllis Pratt Saco and Clyde Mallett Bath, one granddaughter, one grandson and two great grandchildren. Funeral 1 pm Thursday at Harvard H Clark Funeral Home Brewer with Rev John Miller officiating. Interment Oakhill Cemetery Brewer. Friends may call 7-9 pm tomorrow. Beach youth hospitalized after single car crash
A 16 year old from Old Orchard Beach remained in fair condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a single car crash on Buxton Road in Saco just after midnight. Police say Donald Bolduc drove off the road in Joy Valley, hit a utility pole, snapped it, then hit a tree. He was transported by Saco Fire Department to Webber Hospital in Biddeford and later to Portland. Police theorize he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
