First Salle Charite auxiliary banquet honors founders
About 150 attendees gathered Sunday night for the first annual banquet of the Salle Charite auxiliary. Master of ceremonies Ray mond Bolduc introduced guests including Msgr. Aime Giguere and Rev. Valliere. Rev. Valliere spoke on Catholic social rehabilitation work with examples from Up-Hill Houses and the Doremy program.

Kennebunk Couple Celebrates Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Charles Hooper of Kennebunk marked 60 years of marriage with an outdoor cook out at the home of their daughter Halsted Pillsbury. Married July 11 1900 in Biddeford, Hooper a former greenhouse worker and woodcutter later gardener at Kenneth Roberts estate. They have three children seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and attend the Kennebunk Baptist church.

In Groton Connecticut a young Maine sailor died yesterday from injuries in a July 2 motorcycle crash. John O Malley 20 of Eliot was killed when three dogs ran into his path while he rode the motorcycle assigned to the nuclear submarine Tullibee.
