Biddeford Considers Gym Honor for Stephen White
Biddeford mayor says move to name the new Biddeford High School gymnasium for Stephen F. White, a 35 year veteran coach who died last September on Waterhouse field. The request, supported by about 25 residents, will be discussed by the school committee next week. White began coaching in 1922 at Biddeford High and served as PE instructor and athletic director, also directing grammar school programs, with a career spanning football, baseball and basketball at multiple schools.
