Boy's Hobby Attracts Family To Ham Radio Hobby
Raymond Beliveau of 331 Elm Street Biddeford turns ham radio into a family project. He earned second prize in the 1959 Maine district phone section of the Sweepstake contest and his father William followed suit with an amateur license. The pair, plus Raymond's grandfather, built a dedicated third floor hobby room, swap messages with operators in Alaska Morocco Italy France and South Africa, and plan a visit with their radio friend Ken. Raymond aims for electrical engineering, keeps up with school at St Louis High, and continues to connect worldwide from Biddeford.
