Church Women Elect Biddeford Congregational Fellowship Leaders

Mrs Shirley E Parks was elected president of the Women s Fellowship at the Biddeford Second Congregational Church in a December meeting. Officers named include Mrs William Beety as vice president and Mrs Alfred Bradford as secretary. Circle leaders were named with co leaders and a youth helper. The annual meeting and officer installation is set for January 8 at 7 30 p m at the church. Mrs Ida Smith Honored on 90th Birthday in Saco

In Saco Mrs Ida E Monquin Smith marked her 90th birthday with a family dinner hosted by nephew E Benjamin Currier at 3 Willow Avenue. A social figure known for crocheting rug braiding and sewing she recently toured Nova Scotia and Quebec driving about 1000 miles. She lives with sister Angie Currier and is famed for walking to Mass at Notre Dame de Lourdes church. Born December 4 1872 in St Simon Quebec she married Jerry Smith in Salem Massachusetts 67 years ago and has a son Edward M Smith of Wentworth Station Nova Scotia. She previously lived in Wakefield Massachusetts and worked as a companion after her husband died. The family moved to Saco in 1954.
