Man Bound Over For Grand Larceny In Funeral Theft

Rock Island Illinois May 14 James Cundy bound over to the grand jury for grand larceny for stealing 16.50 from his landlady to attend his mother's funeral at Iron Mountain. He could not post bond and remained jailed. His hearing coincided with his mother's funeral.

Murder May Result From Fatal Drinking Row

After a cutting affray at Ironwood Wednesday night Louis Haestron may face murder charges. Oscar Rounda, knifed by Haestron, lies at Union hospital with life threatening injuries. Both are Finlanders from the Newport mine, three companions present. the pair quarreled over who could whip whom during a drinking party, leading to Haestron inflicting severe wounds. Haestron is held in Bessemer awaiting a hearing.

Accident in Wisconsin Central yards leaves brakeman critical

Lee Hoops twenty five a Tacoma Washington native and ore train brakeman fell from a moving train in the local yards yesterday forenoon. He struck his back on the rail breaking the spinal column and severely injured an arm. He was taken to the Go Gebie hospital and remains in critical condition.

Luigi Palmeri killed Antonio Annibale with a double barreled shotgun at a Silver Street boarding house near the river in Irewood. The attack occurred last Thursday morning. Annibale died five hours later at Union Hospital. Palmeri fired second barrel, injuring Emidio Palmeri. Stella escaped injury. Patrolman Hyatt arrived. Palmeri jailed.
