Palm-reader pleads guilty to petty larceny in church theft
Melvin Cohen a 28 year old traveling palmist from Paterson New Jersey pleaded guilty to petty larceny for stealing a purse containing 20 95 from Mrs Alfred Nyman at Sharon Lutheran church while she cleaned it. He admitted throwing the purse in a garbage bin and hoped to buy flowers for his mother on Mother’s Day. Judge W S Baird remanded him to sheriff custody for further investigation before sentence.

Legion to Send Lutz to Boy's State Camp
Gedda Cychosz American Legion post selected James Lutz of A. D. Johnston High School to attend Boy's State camp at a recent meeting. Lutz is son of the late Charles Lutz, a World War I veteran. The post also planned open house during the BPO Elks convention May 20–23 and memorial day arrangements. Committees were formed to obtain a photo tribute to Francis Cychosz, whose name the post bears, and to honor Peter Gedda, the first Bessemerite to die in World War I. Francis Cychosz, who died at Pearl Harbor, is noted as the first local casualty in World War II.
