Louis Vukovich Dies in Iron River Community
Louis Vukovich 47 brother of Emil and Marko Vukovich and Mrs Charles Hodak of Bessemer and George Vukovich of Ironwood died Monday night in Iron River. He worked with Northwestern Motor Bus and Gogebic Auto Co and managed its Iron River garage for 20 years. Born in Austria, he is survived by his widow three daughters Kathryn Frances and Dorothy and a son George. Relatives from Emil and George Vukovich attended funeral arrangements in Iron River Tuesday.

Arnoldo Gismondi Dies After Ill Health At 42
Arnoldo Gismondi of Bessemer died Saturday morning at Newport hospital from heart disease after months of ill health. He was born in Italy 42 years ago and lived in Iron Mountain before moving to Bessemer. A blacksmith at the Anvil mine, he served in World War I and belonged to the American Legion. He leaves a widow, two daughters Bruna and Anne, his mother Mrs. Anna Gismondi, sister Mrs. Angelo Massi of Anvil, and brother Joseph of Scranton. Military rites were by Peter Gedda American Legion Post of Bessemer. funeral at St Sebastian Catholic Church at 9. Pail bearers named.

Frank L. Van Gorder of Bessemer was elected Worthy President of the Bessemer Fraternal Order of Eagles at a regular meeting. He succeeds Leonard J. McMawman of Ironwood, who led Gogebic Aerie 1908 for the past two years. Van Gorder also chairs the Mother’s Day observance program the lodge will sponsor again this year on Sunday May 14.

In Ontonagon County alterations to the pivot pier of a bridge on M 64 in Ontonagon Village were let to B J Gallagher Escanaba for 25 900. A bridge on M 107 near Silver City was awarded to Northern Construction Co Ishpeming for 17 881 99. Another Ontonagon County bridge on M 64 across the Mineral River 43 miles north of Bergland went to John Jackson Ironwood for 11 247 59.

Funeral Monday for Mrs Swanson of North Ramsay
Funeral services for Mrs John Swanson of North Ramsay were held Monday afternoon at Moore Funeral Home and Sharon Lutheran Church. She died Thursday night after a long heart illness at age 67, born in Finland August 25, 1871, married in Ramsay in 1892, lived on a farm north of Ramsay since 1913. Survived by sons Arthur, Walter and daughters Mrs Carl Nelson, Thea, Amelia, and Mrs Oscar Hanson. Pallbearers and flower attendants named. Burial in local cemetery.
