Isaac Kujula 66, longtime Puritan resident, died Saturday morning at his home after years with anemia. Born in Finland in 1869, he lived in Wakefield and Ironwood before moving to Puritan seven years ago. He worked for Oliver Iron Mining Co. Survived by widow, daughter Mrs Claude Kelly of Graceton Mino, and three sons Edwin Bessemer Theodore Hibbing and Richard Puritan. Former Hurley youths guilty in counterfeit case
William and Guido Fontecchio, former Hurley youths, were sentenced to five years each at Fort Leavenworth by Federal Judge P. L. Sullivan in Chicago. They pleaded guilty to possession of counterfeit money after agents found 31,000 in counterfeit bills on them and in their car while arresting them December 18, 1935. The brothers ran a tavern in the Little Hurley district near Florence, Wisconsin.
