Lengthen Deer Season Proposed by Michigan Game Warden

Died of Pneumonia: Simon Hoffman of Ramsay
Simon Hoffman aged 54 died of pneumonia at Ramsay last Monday. He leaves two daughters, both residents of Ramsay, to mourn his loss. The funeral, held Thursday, was conducted by John J. Frick and burial followed at Hessemr cemetery.

Death of Steve Scimenski in Gogebic mine incident
Steve Scimenski 28 died from injuries suffered when his back was broken about six weeks earlier at the Yale mine. He passed away last Friday at Gogebic Hospital. He leaves a wife and two young children. The funeral was held Monday from St. Sebastian church with John J. Frick in charge and services conducted by Rev. Fr. Chas Swoboda.

Michigan Governor Warner on state finances improve
Lansing December 8 Governor Warner stated the state will end the year about 1 million dollars better than last year. He noted a mid January tax deficit around 1.5 million and that year the shortage likely under 500 thousand. He cited state institutions holding near 500 thousand in local banks as of November 25.
