Memory Lane dedication unites community in harmony and growth
The Memory Lane project in Bessemer expanded into a two mile parkway with elm trees and shrubs. Local leaders and clergy fostered unity among religions, aided by Gogebic County Road Commission and Michigan State Highway Department. Community groups raised funds through wares, plays, and student drives, expanding the lane and planting 140 elms and 840 landscape plants.
