Rail taxes fund 45 percent of Gogebic school costs
In Gogebic county 5033 of 11185 school children, about 45 percent, are educated largely through railroad taxes. Drake of the Michigan Railroad Employes and Citizens League notes the county gets 14%-707 of the state primary school fund, about 12.59 per pupil. From the 1933-34 fund of 17,398,203.29, railroads paid 7,829,198.23, 45 percent, amounting to 63,318 for the county.

New Law Cuts Tax Delinquency Fees in Gogebic County
