Tyringham and Lee raise record charity drives

Tyringham completed its drive with 111 dollars against a 100 dollar goal. The Lee drive overshot its 500 dollar target by collecting 613 dollars. Key organizers included W Merritt McBrian and Henning Carlson with Barbara Jones as treasurer. Stockbridge reported 211 dollars, West Stockbridge 10 dollars, Richmond 115 dollars.

Masonic Lodge to Install Officers in Lee Evening Star

Lee Evening Star Lodge of Masons will hold a public installation Saturday at 8 in the Masonic Temple. William A. Hosmer will succeed Robert C. Dunn as worshipful master with Ernest A. Lowry senior warden, Robert S. Bier, junior warden, and others installed. The installing suite includes Albert N. Nettleton master and P Roy Wheeler marshal.

Golden Age Club Dessert Party in Otis

The Golden Age Club held a dessert party hosted by Mr and Mrs George Dillman in Otis with 32 members attending. Mrs Henry Hinck spoke on the Shakers early days and demonstrated Shaker pieces including an old cast iron stove, chairs and baskets. The group plans a picnic on Saturday Oct 2.

Rotary Club Hosts Welsh Visitors in East Lee

Lee Rotary Club welcomed Harry Hunt and Mrs. Coral Roberts of Wales as part of a 42-person district exchange program with reciprocal visits arranged. Guests stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Angus MacDonald at Jug End South Egremont. Mrs. Roberts is a Rotarian's wife. a film on fire insurance followed the meeting.

Tyringham Ty ring ham The Hop Brook Community Club chose Mrs Percy Stanton to succeed Mrs R Erving Davernois who resigned She was a founder and its first president Officials also include secretary Mrs Franklin L Couch and treasurer Mrs Grace Slater The fall fair and rummage sale netted 67863 The next Union Church public supper is planned for mid October with a harvest meal anchored by turkey and holiday dishes

Fund To Preserve Union Church Reaches $2450 Total

Tyringham notices the Ceiling fund for Union Church totaling $2450 with recent gifts of $50 from the Valley Club and $25 from the Tyringham Fire Department. The fund exceeds the ceiling need and will fund general preservation. exterior painting is planned next spring. A suspended acoustical ceiling was installed in early summer under a committee chaired by William Dyer.

Union Church to Start Sunday School Oct 3 at 11 A M

Union Church prepares to begin Sunday school on October 3 during the 11 o clock service with reception of new members. The day also marks Worldwide Communion Sunday, inviting congregants to participate in the observance.

Stockbridge Kiwanis steak roast fundraiser at golf club

The Stockbridge Kiwanis Club hosts its annual steak roast Saturday from 9 40 to 7 30 at Stockbridge Golf Club. Meals are largely prepared by Kiwanians with club chef help. George W Bunnell and Rino Desmolino are chairmen and a dance runs 9 to midnight afterward.
