A New Kind of Love Film Review

A Paramount release directed by Melvin Shavelson, this comedy uses the ugly duckling premise with Freudian overtones of frigidity. Joanne Woodward leads a Paris bound fashion thief story, with Paul Newman, Thelma Ritter, Eva Gabor, and Maurice Chevalier in supporting roles. Daniel Fapp’s color Paris cinematography stands out though the film veers toward smut at times and may not suit younger audiences.
