Snow and Cold Sweep Through Northeast and Midwest
Snow and cold snap grip the Northeast and Great Lakes as temperatures drop to zero on the Northern Plains. Conneaut Ohio reports nearly a foot of snow, 60 miles from Cleveland, with Elrie Pennsylvania and Buffalo New York seeing 8 inches, while Grand Rapids and Traverse City Michigan report seven inches. New England sees up to 20 inches from weekend storms. Most of the nation remains sunny and dry, though Great Lakes snow squalls persist. In New York City, the Greater New York Safety Council urges caution after heavy meals before driving, warning overeating can slow reflexes and raise accident risk.
