John and Mary at Showcase Theatre review
Metropolitan critic notes the change in film plots as John Hoffman and Mia Farrow explore a late night decision to pursue or avoid a permanent relationship. Dustin Hoffman and Farrow carry the film with warmth and talent, elevating Peter Yates’s direction beyond its modest script. The reviewer admits initial biases but finds the one-note movie oddly engaging and charming.
