Lithium talk highlights Mount Greylock club meeting
At the Mount Greylock Mineral Club gathering at Bertrand Giegerich’s home, he spoke on Lithium and Its Minerals noting lithium’s uses from medicine to space center power systems. He described lithium as a soft metal that strengthens other metals like aluminum for aircraft and recalled past mining near Lithia. The display featured lithium minerals from New England mines and a field trip to the Harvard Museum was planned for Sunday. The next meeting is February 7 at Raymond and Mrs. Rowe’s home.
