Dalton Finance Committee predicts tax rate rise to 53 or 54
Dalton officials anticipate the 1970 tax rate could be 53 to 54 per thousand, down from earlier 55 to 56, due to a 25,000 cut in the Central Berkshire Regional School budget and a proportional 15,816 reduction in Dalton’s share. If voters reject the committee’s budget plan, police funding would rise by about 20,000.
