Delta Delta Delta battles halt major Viet push

South Vietnamese commanders say allied forces halted a major North Vietnamese effort in the Mekong Delta 10 miles west of Moc Hoa. The clash left 79 enemy troops dead, boosting the total in the series to 207, with 17 South Vietnamese killed and 24 wounded in earlier fighting near My Tho and the Plain of Reeds. US advisers and helicopters supported government rangers as the 88th Regiment planned to move toward My Tho during a cease fire. Avalanches Raise Alarm Near French Resort Towns
