Resignations and appointments mark Berkshire district courts

Gov. Furcolo announced the resignation of Lee District Court Judge Albert Clark 73 and the appointment of Pittsfield attorney John J. Dwyer to succeed him. The move, seen as abrupt, follows earlier Furcolo district court appointments in Berkshire County. Judge Clark, a Republican, had been appointed by Gov. Bradford with a salary of 4300 a year. Dwyer, chairman of Pittsfield Democratic City Committee, replaces Clark amid GOP expectations that the post would go to a Republican. The fast switch surprised local Republicans.
