Waterbury Tax Official Shot During Revaluation Crisis
A Waterbury man shot George Macary, 55, a member of the City Board of Tax Review, as the legislature met in a special session over the property reevaluation. Macary remained in critical condition after surgery at St Mary’s Hospital. Police guarded other city officials while a citywide manhunt continued.
