A lost five year old, Ernest Jarvis, wandered from home near the Smelter house and was found about ten thirty at night by his father and two Mexican laborers while walking back toward Benson. The boy carried water and preferred walking to riding, ending the town wide search and returning safely to his mother.

Spinal cord severed, may never use his lower limbs again. After bullet removal he will be sent to Mayo Brothers Hospital Rochester Minnesota for possible recovery.
