Y M C A War Work Fund Meeting Report

Thursday night at K P Hall an enthusiastic Y M C A meeting supported war work. Rev DuBose spoke on Y M C A efforts in Europe and prisoner camps, noting cheer brought to troops. High School students donated fifty dollars. a dinner to aid Benson and surrounding areas followed. songs and prayers closed the gathering.

A supper for the Y M C A is planned in the Clark building to support a canoe project. B U H S basketball faces three games before Christmas and a challenge from Lordsburg. Domestic Science prepared the supper menu.

St David Man Falls From 25 Foot River Bank

J N Christenson of St David was crossing near his home when he slipped from a roughly perpendicular river bank about twenty five feet high. He crawled to within a hundred yards of home before aid arrived. Dr Morrison found no bones broken and Christenson later recovered though stiff and sore from bruises and shock.

Red Cross Dance Hosted by Elgin Chapter

The Elgin Chapter of the Red Cross hosts a dance at Floral Hall Sonoita on Saturday evening November 24. Good music and supper offered. Benson residents invited. Proceeds fund supplies to aid boys at the front.
