The El Cajon group 12 miles from Corncob and 14 from Apache mine begins its first carload shipment of about 35 tons of hard carbonate ore carrying steel galena copper gold and silver to Deming New Mexico for treatment. Owners Culver Hudson and Lieben, joined by mining expert J Shedden, report development includes a 60 foot tunnel and a shortened road to the river road, with promising geological formation similarities to Leadville.

Freight Train Wreck Near Benson Delays Passengers

A westbound sixteen car freight wrecked about six miles west of Benson on Wednesday afternoon around four. A carload of automobiles was among the wreckage. A brakeman suffered severe injuries and was taken to a Tucson hospital. East and westbound trains Nos. 1 and 10 were delayed, with the track cleared after midnight Monday.

Services at Presbyterian Church Tomorrow

Bank of Benson to Become Cochise County State Bank

A planned banking change will replace the Bank of Benson with the Cochise County State Bank headquartered in Tombstone. Benson Will be a branch with $30,000 capital and $4,750 surplus and profits, under continued leadership of Mr and Mrs A G Smith. K N Coplen will head the Tombstone operation along with a broad group of stockholders and directors from Tombstone and Fairbank.
