German Consul Bopp Sentenced to Prison and Fine

Franz Bopp the German consul general in the United States receives two years in federal prison and one year in county jail plus a total fine of 10000 dollars for violating American neutrality. Aides E H Von Schack George Wilhelm von Brincken and C C Crowley share similar terms while Mrs Margaret W Cornell gets one year and one day with no fine. The sentences follow convictions on conspiring to aid Germany against Canada and to violate the Sherman act via interstate munition shipments. Bail set at 10000 dollars for Bopp and von Schack.

Body of Mrs. English Sent Home For Burial

The body of Mrs. Margaret J. English who died Friday night at her sister’s home in Tombstone was sent to Shreveport Louisiana. She had lived in Tombstone for years and collapsed on a train near the local station while traveling from Tombstone to El Paso. Her husband Allen R. English arrived from Tombstone with relatives and a daughter to accompany the body to Shreveport.
