Benson Team Sees Third in Tucson Meet Track Scores
Benson Union High School placed third at the State Interscholastic meet at the University of Arizona. William Etz captured most Benson points, winning the low hurdles and shot put, placing in other events, as Phoenix and Gila Academy and 12 other schools competed. Coach C. W. Frost says prospects are bright for next year as Etz, Sipes, Sabin, Powell, Martinez, Mendevil and Scott form Benson’s core.

Nicholas Martinez, long time Benson resident, sells his business and plans to move with his family to Mineral Hill near Twin Buttes to pursue mining ventures.
