Sweat Pants Prove Handy In Shopping
A Bensenville man named John J. Krammer, 55, was accused of shoplifting Saturday at the Green Street Supermarket. Two round steaks, a 12-ounce jar of horseradish, and four boxes of candy bars were found in sweat pants worn beneath an ordinary pair of trousers. He posted $500 bond and is due in court before Justice of the Peace Jack Parish on April 27.

Community volunteers from Wood Dale Highview contributed labor and funds totaling about $300 for trenching along Elmhurst Avenue, while Elmhurst residents helped organize the project to alleviate chronic flooding and septic failures. Man Injured In Go Cart Mishap Here
Joseph LaPuma, 25, of 2321 Wilson North Elmhurst, was injured Sunday afternoon when the go kart he drove in Brentwood Commons shopping center parking lot hit a snowbank. A broken gas pedal spring prevented stopping. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for head and hand lacerations and other injuries. Propr proprietors warn they will prosecute future go kart racing in the lot.

Steven Schleneger, 13, who confessed to the killing of seven year old Yvonne Elliott in North Elmhurst, was ruled mentally incompetent by a Wheaton jury and will be committed to the Illinois Department of Mental Health.
